Conservator-Restorer HES / Conservatrice-Restorer HES (40%) Who are we? The Archaeological Service of the State of Fribourg (SAEF) identifies, inventories and records archaeological cultural assets. It accompanies the administrative procedure concerning the remains located in the archaeological perimeter and implements excavations and, if necessary, measures to preserve the remains. It enhances the documentation carried out in the form of publications. To raise awareness among the various publics about the archaeological heritage, the Service organizes open houses, conferences and exhibitions and participates in training. Why join us? Your missions Elaborate complete diagnostics of archaeological objects, define and document adapted conservation-restoration interventions Ensure conservation and restoration treatments, notably within the inert materials laboratory, while respecting the integrity of the objects as well as the requirements of traceability, durability and preservation of the heritage Ensure the writing of treatment reports as well as scientific articles Carry out the conditioning of archaeological movable property and ensure its conservation; collaborate in the monitoring of the state of archaeological collections Ensure the archiving of produced documents and their integration into the information system Contribute to the transmission of knowledge by training trainees and other collaborators in good conservation-restoration practices, as well as to the enhancement of the heritage by ensuring guided tours for groups Collaborate in the preparation, implementation and dismantling of exhibitions Desired profile You have a Master of Arts in conservation-restoration from a specialized higher education institution or equivalent training You have proven professional experience in the field of conservation and restoration of archaeological movable property You have an excellent sense of organization and work in a structured, methodical and efficient manner You are curious and inventive by nature.
