Head of Logistics – Transport & Dispatch (m/f/d)

The position is ideal for a personality who enjoys taking responsibility, is close to employees and customers, and also keeps a cool head when the daily plan no longer matches the actual daily business at short notice.

Your tasks

• Overall responsibility for the operative organization and control of transport logistics
• Leadership of a small team in dispatch as well as a larger number of drivers
• Planning and coordination of an extensive in-house commercial vehicle fleet as well as demand-oriented use of external transport capacities
• Ensuring efficient and customer-oriented dispatch
• Coordination of a wide variety of transport orders in regional and supra-regional local transport
• Active support of the dispatch during bottlenecks, outages, and demanding situations
• Leadership, supervision, and deployment planning of the drivers
• Organization of vacations, absences, replacements, and special assignments
• Coordination of vehicle availability, repairs, maintenance, and MFK appointments
• Ensuring compliance with legal working, driving, and rest times
• Responsibility for the economical use of personnel, vehicles, and external transport partners
• Direct contact with internal and external customers as well as pragmatic solution of customer concerns
• Rapid organization of solutions in case of vehicle failures, personnel bottlenecks, accidents, or short-term changes
• Active further development of workflows and processes in transport and dispatch

Your profile

• Several years of experience in transport logistics with dispatch
• Sound knowledge of road transport and its operative challenges
• Leadership experience in transport, logistics, or a comparable environment
• Experience in the deployment planning of drivers and commercial vehicles
• Good knowledge of the relevant legal regulations, especially ARV as well as working, driving, and rest times
• Technical understanding of commercial vehicles and enjoyment of a diverse vehicle fleet
• Entrepreneurial thinking and strong cost awareness
• High service and customer orientation
• Decisiveness and the ability to find pragmatic solutions even under time pressure
• Down-to-earth, clear, and appreciative leadership personality
• High flexibility and willingness to be reachable outside of classic office hours during operationally important events
• Place of residence within a reasonable distance to the place of work or willingness to choose it accordingly
