The Justizvollzugsanstalt Witzwil executes sentences and measures for 184 adult men in open prison service as well as in administrative detention under immigration law. The admitted persons are guided and supported in various professions in agriculture, trade, and supply according to occupational pedagogical principles. In the prison service, around 140 employees work consistently towards the goal of socialization and reduction of recidivism of the prisoners. Production goals and execution goals do not compete, but rather complement each other.

Your tasks

• You work in a team and are responsible for the administrative day-to-day business
• Manage and coordinate the admissions and discharges, including leave and holiday processes of the persons admitted to us
• Support in the visiting and transport processes
• Responsible for the incoming and outgoing institutional and prison mail
• Actively assist with the internal accounting of the admitted persons
• Support in the area of IT and cell technology for the admitted persons and process user mutations for the employees of the JVA Witzwil

Your profile

• Commercial basic training with several years of professional experience
• Knowledge in the area of prison service will facilitate your entry
• You have a flair for numbers, think in networks and act in a service-oriented manner
• Very good knowledge of Office products, as well as access to various IT applications comes easily to you
• Communication in both German and French
• Expedient, exact, reliable and independent way of working
• You keep a cool head even in hectic daily routines

About the Amt für Justizvollzug

The Amt für Justizvollzug (AJV) is responsible for the open and closed execution of sentences and measures for adults and adolescents with around 1000 employees within the Sicherheitsdirektion of the Canton of Bern (SID). To fulfill this task, the office has four concordat correctional facilities, four regional prisons, the guarding station at the Inselspital, the detention management center, as well as the probation and execution services at its disposal.
