Mechanical/General Utilities Discipline Leader

Join us for a career rich in opportunities, where you can make a difference and where no two days are the same. ## CONTEXT As part of the strengthening of the engineering platform dedicated to industrial CAPEX projects, the Monthey site conducts Mechanical/general utilities and mechanical installation projects in a chemical environment, subject to high requirements in terms of safety, regulatory compliance, and multi-disciplinary coordination (Process, E&I, Automation, HSE, Construction). The Mechanical/general utilities Discipline Leader ensures the technical mastery of the discipline, the consistency of studies, the quality of deliverables, and the smooth running of interfaces within the project cycle, up to the availability of IFC documents and support for execution. YOUR ROLE You are the technical referent for the mechanical/general utilities discipline at the Monthey site. You lead the design, validate technical solutions, facilitate design reviews, secure regulatory compliance, and support the Project Manager to guarantee smooth, safe execution in accordance with CAPEX objectives. ## MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Technical leadership of the MECA/GENERAL UTILITIES discipline • Define, maintain, and disseminate technical standards, engineering methods, and best practices of the discipline. • Validate design solutions by integrating safety, costs, deadlines, constructability, and maintainability. • Facilitate and validate multidisciplinary Design Reviews (Process, E&I, Automation, HSE). 2. Supervision and validation of deliverables • Verify MECA studies and deliverables: 3D models, 2D plans, isometrics, calculation notes, MTO/BOQ, equipment technical specifications. • Guarantee compliance with standards (EN, ASME, ASIT code, Eurocodes) and ATEX/PED/OPAM requirements. • Ensure alignment and consistency between disciplines (interfaces). 3. Project coordination & operational support • Contribute to risk management, technical clarifications, and decision-making with the Project Manager. • Lead technical exchanges with suppliers and validate their documents (datasheets, plans, calculations). • Work with Construction & HSE to ensure the constructability and safety of solutions. 4. Execution & commissioning support • Provide technical clarifications to site teams (RFI, redlines). • Contribute to the finalization of IFC files and elements of the commissioning file (DMS). 5. Allocation of discipline resources You are responsible for the allocation of the Mechanical/general utilities team of engineers and drafters by project. This includes: workload distribution, activity prioritization, skill coordination, adjustments according to the needs of the CAPEX portfolio. SKILLS & PROFILE • Proven experience (10+ years) in mechanical/general utilities/civil engineering in the chemical, pharma, or energy industry. • Good knowledge of processes and equipment used in the chemical industry (pumps, filters, reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, -) • Mastery of OPAM/SEVESO environments, ATEX/ PED directives, and EN, ASME, ASIT code, Eurocode standards. • Strong skills in multi-disciplinary coordination, facilitating technical reviews, and technical decision-making. • Tools: AutoCAD, mechanical/piping/structure calculations, AVEVA 3D. • Excellent interpersonal skills, technical leadership, rigor, and a focus on "solution & constructability." Languages: Fluent French + Professional English or German (B2/C1).
