The Regionalgefängnis Burgdorf is the most modern prison in the Canton of Bern and stands for a secure, structured, and responsible execution of various types of detention.

Your tasks

• You assume the operational leadership and professional development of the execution coordination area.
• You ensure uniform and quality-assured execution practice according to the requirements of the AJV and the Strafvollzugskonkordat Nordwest- und Innerschweiz and check the quality of the execution plans.
• You accompany central execution decisions and progressions and ensure effective case management and professional reporting.
• You lead internal and external case and execution meetings, support the employees of the social services, and maintain professional exchange with referring authorities and other partners.
• You further develop instruments, concepts, and work processes and contribute interdisciplinary to meetings, supervisions, as well as project and working groups.

Your profile

• You have a completed higher vocational education (HF/FH/University) in the fields of social work, law, criminology or an equivalent qualified education related to judicial execution.
• You bring 3 to 4 years of professional experience in a comparable field of activity, with a similar clientele and/or in public administration.
• Very good German and French language skills in spoken and written form are required. Further language skills are an advantage.
• You convince through strong communication skills, intercultural competence and teamwork.
• Your structured and goal-oriented way of working as well as your strong planning and organizational skills distinguish you.
• Sense of responsibility, quality orientation, willingness to perform and perseverance round off your profile.

About the Amt für Justizvollzug

The Amt für Justizvollzug (AJV) is responsible for the open and closed penal and measure execution for adults and young people with around 1000 employees within the Sicherheitsdirektion des Kantons Bern (SID). To fulfill this task, the office has four concordat judicial execution institutions, four Regionalgefängnisse, the Bewachungsstation am Inselspital, the Haftleitstelle as well as the Bewährungs- und Vollzugsdienste at its disposal.
