Here, the business and projects of the entire Directorate of Education are coordinated. The Appeals Department of the General Secretariat of the Directorate of Education mainly processes appeals from various legal areas of the directorate. To reinforce the existing team of eight people, we are looking for a lawyer as Deputy Head of Appeals Department 80\-100% immediately or by arrangement. Your area of responsibility As Deputy Head of Appeals Department, you support the Head of Appeals Department in technical, organizational, and personnel aspects and take over the deputy role in her absence. Together with the team, you process appeals against rulings within the jurisdiction of the Directorate of Education. These mainly include the following areas: entrance examinations and school career decisions in the secondary and vocational education sector, personnel law of the cantonal employees of the public schools as well as the vocational and secondary schools, training grants, state grants, and measures according to the Child and Youth Home Act. In this versatile and responsible function, you independently lead appeal proceedings, draft decision proposals, and, within your own competence, sign the appeal decisions submitted to you by the legal staff for review. In addition, you participate in the further development of the Appeals Department, particularly in the optimization of internal processes as well as in the preparation and implementation of the digitalization of administrative procedures. Your profile You have a university degree in law, ideally with a bar attorney patent or another additional qualification. Thanks to your profound professional experience, you have very good knowledge of public law and are able to familiarize yourself with new legal areas in a short time and also solve difficult legal questions. The rulings drafted by you demonstrate linguistic skill. You pride yourself on formulating legal texts clearly, precisely, and convincingly. You work independently, expeditiously, and carefully, have good organizational skills, and an interest in the digitalization of administrative procedures.
