Your missions As the Digital Process Manager Pathology, you will play a central role in defining and securing the digital transformation of our pathology services across all Swiss sites. You will ensure that digital workflows, scanner quality, accreditation standards, training levels, and AI-assisted diagnostic processes meet the highest operational and regulatory requirements. This is a key role at the intersection of laboratory practice, digital technology, quality management, and innovation. Leadership of digital workflows and quality • Harmonize scanning procedures and global digital workflows across all pathology sites, in close collaboration with chief technicians and pathologists. • Lead and oversee quality and accreditation activities related to digital pathology and AI applications in cooperation with the quality management team. • Monitor turnaround times (TAT) and ensure smooth daily management of quality control tasks. • Train technical and medical staff on digital infrastructure and software. Systems, tools and vendor management • Serve as the primary point of contact with all scanner vendors, IMS/LIS software publishers, and AI solution partners. • Manage and resolve case synchronization issues between IMS and LIS - particularly in situations where user permissions differ (e.g., limited access to case details for pathologists). • Oversee digital scanner performance, including monitoring rates of blurry slides, scanning time, QC success rate per scan, and the number of bugs or technical failures. AI monitoring and innovation watch • Perform post-implementation monitoring of AI tools, including: • Algorithm performance • Adverse events • Impact on turnaround times (TAT) • Pathologist experience and feedback • Identification of improvement opportunities • Stay informed about innovations in digital pathology and AI, recommend and evaluate new solutions for potential pilots. User support, site coordination and continuous improvement • Collect feedback from users across all sites and transform insights into improvement actions. • Coordinate with on-site digital scanning technical staff to ensure high-quality routine operations. • Oversee periodic system evaluations (scanner checks, screen calibration, digital validation) and validate new users integrating into the digital workflow. Regulatory monitoring and compliance • Monitor the evolution of legal and regulatory requirements related to digital pathology, laboratory-developed tests (LDT), and AI technologies (e.g., reimbursement frameworks, IVDR evolutions). • Ensure compliance and prepare the organization for future regulatory changes affecting digital workflows. What you bring Essential: • Solid experience in digital pathology, ideally in a pathology laboratory. • Understanding of quality management, accreditation standards, and specific requirements of digital systems in pathology. • Experience with IMS, LIS, slide scanners, or AI tools is a significant advantage. • Analytical mindset with the ability to monitor performance data and drive continuous improvement. • Required languages: English, plus French or German (ideally both). Additionally, you possess: • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration between technical staff, pathologists, vendors, and IT. • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple sites and stakeholders. • Strong motivation to contribute to the modernization of pathology and the integration of AI-enhanced diagnostics.
