Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is, as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zürich, responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1'400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of convicted persons and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The newly created Medical Service main department ensures the medical-somatic basic care for incarcerated persons in all correctional institutions of the Canton of Zürich. As a central organizational unit, it ensures harmonized and high-quality healthcare according to the principle of equivalence and works closely with the Psychiatric-Psychological Service and the JuWe institutions.
The main department operates as an outpatient medical institution and a Spitex institution with the corresponding health police permit and ensures the billing of medical and nursing services according to the mandatory health insurance.
For the medical care at the JVA Pöschwies location in Regensdorf, we are looking for a committed medical professional to ensure the site-specific care.
This is your field of activity
You bear responsibility for the implementation of medical specifications at the Regensdorf location and ensure the medical care of the incarcerated persons according to the principle of equivalence
In your regular medical consultations, you diagnose and treat the inmates and provide initial medical care in urgent situations
You participate in case discussions and work closely with the medical site management as well as representatives of other professional groups, where the distribution of tasks and interfaces are clearly defined
You ensure the quality of medical care, promote compliance with medical standards, and implement preventive measures to maintain the health of the incarcerated persons
You prepare medical reports, record services, and document treatments according to legal specifications
What you bring with you
You have completed your medical studies and ideally completed specialist training in General Internal Medicine. Additional experience in psychiatry, addiction medicine, or emergency medicine is an advantage
You bring at least three years of professional experience at a recognized training center in Switzerland
You possess a verifiable license to practice medicine as a female or male doctor in the Canton of Zürich as well as an unblemished reputation. Additionally, you are willing to take on shift work (on-call)
Negotiation-level German skills are required for this position, knowledge of other languages is an advantage
Very good MS-Office skills and willingness to familiarize yourself with new health information systems
You possess high social competence in dealing with the specific clientele as well as experience in interprofessional cooperation
