What you can contribute

• Control and verify entry and exit conditions at the Schengen area border and make decisions regarding entry or exit at the first line of control based on legal foundations
• Verify travel documents (authenticity and belonging to the traveler)
• Control the maximum duration of stay; record travelers' biometric data
• Search for travel document data in search systems, interpret results, and implement initial measures as well as collaboration with the second line of control

• Swiss citizenship, dual nationality, or C settlement permit
• Completed vocational training (CFC)
• Excellent reputation; good communication skills and neat appearance
• Proficiency in common Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and interest in modern technologies
• Pragmatism; learning abilities and adaptation to change
• Willingness to wear a uniform and great schedule flexibility, including Saturday and Sunday
• Very good knowledge of at least one official language, good oral knowledge of English (at minimum recognized Certificate level B1 required)

Security for the population, the economy and the State

The Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) ensures global security at the border for the benefit of the population, the economy and the State. It works closely with other national and international authorities. Among its main tasks are the adequate and rapid customs clearance of commercial goods, the smooth management of tourist traffic, as well as the areas of security police and migration. With the Criminal Prosecution management area, it has its own investigative authority. The FOCBS is in the midst of a digital transformation. The DaziT program aims to simplify, optimize and digitize all customs, levy collection and control processes.
