What you can contribute

• Conduct scientific research on the adaptation of the Ukrainian armed forces since 2014
• Analyze Ukraine's strategy, military doctrine, organization, training and equipment
• Synthesize scientific literature, information from open sources and interviews conducted with specialists
• Collaborate on scientific publications and didactic documents
• Contribute to the presentation and communication of results
• Establish, for the benefit of teaching and research, interdisciplinary technical expertise concerning modern warfare and the current development of armed forces

What makes you unique

• Master's in history, political science, strategic studies, international relations, military sciences or a related discipline; ongoing doctoral thesis possible
• Strong interest in modern warfare, the development of armed forces and the war in Ukraine
• Experience in conducting scientific work and analyzing complex situations
• Autonomy and reliability in work
• Team spirit, sense of initiative, interest in interdisciplinary research and exchanges with scientists and military personnel (ideally, officer rank)
• Good active knowledge in English, Ukrainian and/or Russian

The Instruction Command (cdmt Instr) is responsible for instruction within the Swiss Armed Forces -- from recruitment to the training of militia cadres and career soldiers, including general basic instruction. The cdmt Instr includes Higher Officer Training, Army Personnel, five application training formations, the Army Instruction Centre as well as the specialized service Women in the Army and diversity. One third of the approximately 2350 employees practice civilian professions in scientific, technical, medical, psychological, administrative or sporting fields and, along with career soldiers, contribute to the success of the army.

The Swiss Armed Forces employs more than 9000 employees in four military professions and approximately 200 civilian professions, across 110 sites throughout Switzerland. It also ensures succession by training apprentices in more than 30 trades.
