For the Institute for Microelectronics, Embedded Systems and Sensor Technology (IMES), we are looking for a committed personality as part of a succession arrangement starting in the Spring Semester 2027 or by arrangement as: Professor for Integrated Digital Systems In this demanding and versatile function, you will lead a team of scientific staff and work on the further development of the microelectronics field within the Electrical Engineering department in the Department of Engineering. Professor for Integrated Digital Systems Your tasks - You will significantly shape the competence area of Digital Microelectronics and Integrated Systems in teaching, research, and strategic development - You will teach in the Bachelor's program Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as in the Master's program MSE and supervise student projects. In doing so, you will inspire students for modern digital circuit design and microelectronics – from modeling and simulation to testing and implementation on FPGA and ASIC platforms - You will lead a highly qualified research team, specifically develop its competencies, and create an inspiring environment for innovation and collaboration - You will acquire and lead application-oriented research and development projects together with industrial partners and universities at home and abroad - You will strategically expand the specialist field together with colleagues and strengthen its visibility and networking Your qualification - Completed university degree in electrical engineering or a related field, ideally with a doctorate - Profound expertise in the development of digital systems and System-on-Chip (SoC) components with a focus on digital circuit design for FPGA and ASIC implementations - Very good knowledge of RTL and HLS-based development processes as well as confident handling of hardware description languages such as VHDL and Verilog and corresponding synthesis tools - Several years of professional and leadership experience as well as a solution-oriented, interdisciplinary way of working - Experience in the acquisition and management of research and development projects as well as in building sustainable networks with industry and university partners. - Ideally experience in university teaching and an additional didactic qualification - Desirable; experience in English-language teaching and international project experience We offer - An exciting competence area with diverse design possibilities in research, teaching, and institute development - An independent and responsible activity with great scope for personal initiative - Collaboration in an interdisciplinary, committed team with excellent research infrastructure - Modern employment conditions and an attractive location directly at the Rapperswil station – in a region with a high quality of life Interested?
