Who are we?

The Haute école fédérale en formation professionnelle HEFP is the Swiss expert organization for vocational education and training. We offer initial and continuing education to vocational training managers, conduct research projects on vocational education and training, contribute to the development of professions, and support international cooperation in the field of vocational education and training. Our sites are located in Zollikofen near Berne (headquarters), Lausanne, and Lugano, with external sites in Olten and Zurich.

Head of Higher Education Development 80-100 %

Your responsibilities

• Support for the director and the management of the higher education institution in the strategic, conceptual, and organizational developments of the HEFP as well as in their implementation
• Active participation in projects and conduct of projects aimed at implementing the strategy of the HEFP and the strategic objectives of the Federal Council, as well as support for monitoring their implementation
• Design, planning, and coordination work in the areas of strategy, management, organization, and development of the higher education institution
• Management of the executive staff on a professional and personnel level
• Pursuit of the evolution of the higher education development field and support in intersectoral themes
• Organization and maintenance of collaboration with the members of the management of the higher education institution and within the extended management (HR, legal service, Communication, Organization and quality, International relations)
• Content-related preparation and follow-up of meetings and retreats of the management of the higher education institution as well as management of affairs between the management of the higher education institution and the HEFP Council
• Planning and organization of internal events (e.g., executive retreats) and support for strategically relevant internal formats
• Member of the management of the higher education institution with an advisory voice

Your profile

• Higher education degree, preferably in social or human sciences
• In-depth knowledge of the education landscape, particularly vocational education and training and higher education institutions, as well as a high affinity for issues related to education and higher education
• Several years of professional experience in a conceptual, coordination, or project management function, preferably in the field of education, higher education, or the public sector
• Good understanding of institutional and political issues as well as a reliable and diplomatic approach in relations with different stakeholders
• Strong willingness to learn and develop, initiative, capacity for innovation and analytical skills, as well as the ability to quickly grasp complex themes, structure them, and present them in a manner adapted to the target audience
• Sense of organization and coordination as well as reliability in implementation
• Very good linguistic skills in German or French as well as good knowledge of the other language; knowledge of Italian and/or English is desired
