On behalf of our client based in Genève, we are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer (f/m/d) responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and automation of a heterogeneous and critical database environment.

Your mission

• Ensure the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis and Kafka environments.
• Drive activities related to the database lifecycle: patching, upgrades, backup & restore, capacity planning, configuration, and decommissioning.
• Automate recurring operations, including health checks, configuration validation, backup verification, monitoring, and operational reporting.
• Analyze and resolve complex incidents in production, optimize query and index performance, and strengthen platform resilience.
• Contribute to database security and compliance through hardening, access management, vulnerability remediation, auditability, and data protection.

Your profile
----------

• Higher education in IT, with proven experience as a DBA, Database Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Database Reliability Engineer.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a lead or technical referent role, with at least 2 years of practical experience on PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL, or SQL Server in a production environment.
• Experience with at least two technologies among SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, or Kafka, as well as a solid mastery of SQL.
• Experience in infrastructure automation, good mastery of Linux and Unix Shell, and knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift environments.
• Good understanding of high availability, replication, backup and restore, performance, storage, monitoring, and access management issues.
• Ability to intervene on complex incidents and to collaborate with development, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams; fluent English required, French appreciated.
