Your contribution

• Conduct scientific research on the adaptation of the Ukrainian armed forces since 2014
• Analyze Ukraine's strategy, military doctrine, organization, training, and equipment
• Produce summaries of literary works, open source information, and expert interviews
• Collaborate on scientific publications and educational documentation
• Assist managers during the presentation and communication of research results
• Develop specialist expertise on modern warfare and current armed forces development to benefit teaching and research

What distinguishes you

• University degree (master's) in history, political science, strategic studies, international relations, military sciences, or a related field; possibility to continue an ongoing doctoral thesis
• Strong interest in modern warfare, armed forces development, and the war in Ukraine
• Experience in scientific work and the analysis of complex cases
• Independent and reliable way of working
• Team spirit, initiative, as well as enthusiasm for international research and discussion with scientific and military partners (officer rank preferred)
• Good active knowledge of English, Ukrainian and/or Russian

The Training Command (Cdo Istr) is responsible for training within the Swiss Army -- from recruitment to general basic training to officer training -- regarding the militia and professional soldiers. It includes Higher Officer Training, Army Personnel, five training formations, the Training Center, and the specialized Service for Women in the army and diversity. A third of the approximately 2350 employees are active in civilian professions in scientific, technical, medical, psychological, administrative, or sporting fields and contribute to success alongside professional soldiers.

The Swiss Army employs over 9000 employees within the framework of four military professions and approximately 200 civilian professions, in 110 locations across the national territory. Additionally, it provides for new recruits, training apprentices in over 30 professions.
