Business Developer – Events & Conferences – 100 % At the heart of international Geneva, the Centre International de Conférences, Genève (CICG) and the Centre de Conférences de Varembé (CCV) host major events bringing together international organizations, institutions, public partners, and multilateral dialogue actors. Managed by the FIPOI, these venues constitute true platforms for meetings, exchanges, and influence for Geneva. In a context of evolution in the event market and development of our activities, we are looking for: Business Developer – Events & Conferences – 100 % to strengthen our Conference Service and actively contribute to the positioning of our centers as reference locations for international events. Your mission Reporting to the Conference Service and integrated into a committed team of event project managers, you play a key role in the commercial development of our activities. Your objective: identify new opportunities, develop our client portfolio, promote our spaces, and transform qualified contacts into confirmed events. At the interface between the market, clients, and operational teams, you contribute to evolving our offer towards integrated event solutions, adapted to the expectations of organizers and carrying value for the FIPOI. This orientation is consistent with the Conferences strategy, which aims to strengthen customer experience, service quality, integrated offers, and the positioning of FIPOI's event venues. Your main responsibilities In this role, you will notably be required to: develop new business opportunities actively through prospecting, networking, and identifying potential segments; acquire new clients and contribute to the opening of new accounts; qualify needs, build adapted proposals, and accompany their transformation until contracting; promote the CICG, the CCV, and the Auditorium du Domaine de la Pastorale to institutional, international, economic, or event actors; contribute to the development of integrated event offers, in connection with internal teams and relevant partners; maintain lasting relationships with clients and participate in their loyalty; ensure a targeted presence at events, professional meetings, or representation actions; collaborate closely with project managers to guarantee realistic, coherent, and high-quality offers. Your profile You have proven experience in business development, ideally acquired in the MICE sector, events, hospitality, conferences, or a similar environment; above all, you are a person oriented towards development, acquisition, and results. You like creating opportunities, opening doors, building relationships of trust, and transforming an intention into a concrete project. We will be particularly attentive to the following elements: experience of approximately 7 to 10 years in a commercial or business development function; excellent ability to prospect, negotiate, and develop a network; good understanding of event, institutional, or international environments; interpersonal ease, diplomacy, and sense of customer service; entrepreneurial spirit, proactivity, and ability to propose solutions; sense of organization, rigor in file follow-up, and reliability in execution; ability to work in a team, in a dynamic and transversal environment; perfect mastery of French and English; any other language is an asset; mastery of office tools and interest in CRM tools; knowledge of Momentus is a plus.
