The Département de médecine (DMED) ensures global and specialized care for female and male patients, in both hospital and outpatient settings. Driven by a human, holistic approach based on best medical practices, it offers reference care in many specialties (cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, angiology and nephrology), with 24/7 availability. Within this department, the Service de pneumologie takes care of adults suffering from acute or chronic respiratory diseases, ensuring their diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, in outpatient or inpatient settings. It is also specialized in the screening and management of lung cancer, interventional pulmonology, pre- and post-lung transplantation follow-up, as well as the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis and pulmonary hypertension.

This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment which aims to ensure the compliance of work organization with the Labour Act (LTr).

Senior Registrar with specialty title in pulmonology - 100%
As a senior registrar holding a specialist title in pulmonology, you ensure all clinical activities of the service and evolve in a university environment, at the interface of care, teaching and research. Thanks to a quarterly rotation within the different specialized units, you develop a diversified expertise covering both hospital and outpatient practice by demonstrating versatility. You intervene notably in the management of interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary complications in immunocompromised female and male patients, lung transplantation, interventional pulmonology as well as sleep-related breathing disorders, in close collaboration with the Centre de médecine du sommeil.

You join a close-knit team composed of 9 senior registrars, 4 assistant physicians and 5 intern doctors, under the responsibility of the professor and head of service. You collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including specialized nurses, respiratory physiology technicians, administrative staff as well as the various medical centers and departments of the institution.

You ensure the diagnostic and therapeutic management of acute and chronic respiratory pathologies. You participate in the evaluation and follow-up of complex situations, including notably dyspnea, tuberculosis, respiratory failure and the various medico-technical fields of the specialty.

You demonstrate resilience, clinical sense and a great capacity for analysis in the management of sometimes complex situations. Thanks to your sense of organization and your ability to prioritize, you efficiently ensure your clinical activities while responding to multiple requests (patients, telephones, correspondence, meetings). You ensure the maintenance of clear, benevolent and adapted communication with patients, their relatives as well as with all the professionals involved in their care, by adapting your discourse to their understanding.

Relying on your team spirit, you demonstrate solidarity in the face of unforeseen events. As a senior registrar, you actively participate in the supervision and training of intern doctors of the département de médecine in the field of pulmonology, by adopting a mentoring posture and sharing your expertise.

Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or possess training deemed equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales of the Office fédéral de la santé publique (MEBEKO).
You benefit from or are close to obtaining an FMH specialty title in pulmonology or you have a title deemed equivalent recognized by MEBEKO and possess the cantonal right of practice or are able to obtain it before your entry into office with the cantonal physician of Genève.
You demonstrate a confirmed interest in hospital and outpatient activity in a primary center and good clinical experience as well as knowledge of the hospital world are required.
For non-French speaking persons, the French level C1 in spoken and written tests is required.
You have excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with the patient base, you are a dynamic, flexible, committed person and demonstrate discretion. Furthermore, you have demonstrated strong adaptation skills and a strong team spirit and solidarity towards the members of the team.

Additional Information
You work in daytime hours, participating in the on-call rotation for night and weekend shifts.
