The Département de médecine (DMED) ensures comprehensive and specialized care for patients, in both hospital and outpatient settings. Within this department, the Service de gastro-entérologie et d'hépatologie manages, on diagnostic and non-surgical therapeutic levels, patients suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, liver, bile ducts and pancreas, taking into account the services provided by the other HUG services. It ensures the endoscopic, percutaneous and transhepatic interventional services of the aforementioned organs. This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment which aims to ensure the compliance of work organization with the Labor Act (LTr). Senior Physician with or without specialist title in gastroenterology and hepatology - 80 to 100% As a senior physician, you ensure the care of hospitalized and outpatient patients presenting with gastroenterological and hepatological pathologies. You participate in the diagnostic and therapeutic activities of the service, including endoscopic procedures. You collaborate closely with the assistant physicians and multidisciplinary teams in order to develop the most appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. You demonstrate resilience, clinical sense and a great capacity for analysis in managing sometimes complex situations. Thanks to your sense of organization and your ability to prioritize, you efficiently carry out your clinical activities while responding to multiple requests (patients, telephones, correspondence, meetings). You operate in a demanding environment, at the interface of care, teaching and research. In this capacity, you collaborate closely with the entire medical-nursing team and ensure clear, fluid and respectful communication, both with your colleagues and with patients, adapting your speech to their understanding. Relying on your team spirit, you demonstrate solidarity in the face of unforeseen events. As a senior physician, you actively participate in the supervision and training of internal doctors and trainee doctors of the medical department in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology, adopting a mentoring posture and sharing your expertise. Qualifications You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales of the Office fédéral de la santé publique (MEBEKO). For senior physicians with a specialist title, you benefit from an FMH title in gastroenterology and hepatology or you have a title deemed equivalent recognized by MEBEKO and possess the cantonal right of practice or are able to obtain it before your entry into service from the cantonal physician of Geneva. You have 4 years of experience in hospital general internal medicine followed by 3 years in gastroenterology and hepatology. For non-French speaking persons, a C1 level of French in spoken and written tests is required. You have excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible, committed person and demonstrate discretion. Furthermore, you have demonstrated strong adaptation skills and a strong team spirit and solidarity towards team members.
