L-École pédagogique de Zurich actively shapes l-education, l-school and l-teaching of today and tomorrow in teaching and research. The Continuing Education and Consulting department offers practical and research-based continuing education for teachers and school management at all levels of compulsory school - from CAS curricula to internal training as well as consulting and process support in schools.

The position of Professor of Educational Leadership makes an essential contribution to teaching and research on the issue of educational leadership in Switzerland. It is attached to the Continuing Education and Consulting department of the Vice-rectorate Continuing Education and Services, within the Centre Management and Leadership. The position includes autonomous research activity, but also teaching and/or consulting activities for executives as part of the Centre's offerings. The holder of the position is well connected at the international and national level, both in the scientific world and in practice, and represents the school and the discipline internally and externally. Within the Centre Management and Leadership, the position serves to collaboratively strengthen and develop research perspectives in the field of educational leadership. Close cooperation with colleagues from Continuing Education and Consulting as well as Research and Development is expected.

The position is for an indefinite duration. Depending on the qualifications and performance record of the candidate, an appointment as an assistant professor with tenure track is also possible. If the established criteria are met, the position will be tenured after six years.

What you will do.

• Design and implementation of research projects in the field of educational leadership in Switzerland
• Design, organization and participation in the initial and continuing education of executives in educational organizations within the Centre Management and Leadership (MAL)
• Consulting and support for executives and educational organizations as well as young researchers
• Strengthening research perspectives within the MAL Centre
• Representation of the thematic field and the school externally (international and national, science and practice)

What you bring.

• Relevant doctorate
• Habilitation or a performance record equivalent to a habilitation in the field of educational leadership desired
• Qualification in university didactics (e.g. CAS in university didactics or comparable qualification) desired
• Proven research skills, including success in obtaining, implementing and directing third-party funded projects
• Extensive and high-quality publication activity as well as a wide network in the international research community of the field
• Experience in initial and continuing education, particularly in consulting and supporting executives in educational organizations
• Excellent communication skills (science and practice)
• Willingness for close cooperation within the school
