Welding Specialist Engineer

You will take over the welding supervision and quality assurance in the manufacturing of rail vehicles and support suppliers as well as internal production in the field of welding technology.

Tasks

• Supporting welding supervision according to EN 15085-2 and ISO 3834-2
• Ensuring welding quality at steel suppliers and internal aluminum production
• Creation and maintenance of planning documents, work and inspection instructions
• Support for the training of welders and NDT personnel
• Examination of contract and manufacturing documents for manufacturability and standard compliance
• Welding technology evaluation of designs and release of drawings
• Conducting audits and First Article Inspections at suppliers

Profile

• Completed studies (FH/Uni) in mechanical engineering, materials technology or comparable
• Qualification as a Welding Specialist Engineer (IWE/EWE) mandatory
• Several years of professional experience in a similar function, ideally rail vehicle construction or steel construction
• Sound knowledge of welding technology, experience with aluminum an advantage
• Analytical thinking and structured way of working
• German and English
• Willingness to travel approx. 30%
