Your tasks

Project work for the development of new column materials for use in ion chromatography, this includes:

• Independent literature research, planning and implementation of synthesis experiments
• Chemical functionalization of polymer surfaces
• Production of test columns as well as the characterization of the performance and properties of these test columns using ion chromatography
• Documentation, control and evaluation of experiments
• Presentation of results to stakeholders
• Construction, operation and maintenance of synthesis facilities

Your profile

• Completed basic training as a chemical laboratory technician with a Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency with or without advanced federal professional examination, Bachelor/Master in chemistry or materials science
• Experience and understanding of organic polymer syntheses on a laboratory scale
• Agile team player with an independent and precise way of working
• Analytical thinking and action as well as high implementation orientation
• It is an advantage if you have professional experience in an organic, synthetic area
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote)
• Good German (C1) and English (B2) skills in speaking and writing
• High comprehension as well as interest in further training
