What you can contribute

• After instruction and a progressive introduction, play a central role in the operation of our fighter jets
• Ensure the repair, maintenance, and servicing of F/A-18, with subsequent specialization on the latest generation F-35 fighter jet
• Examine turbojets and safety-critical systems and ensure their maintenance, from replacing turbojets to inspecting arresting gear installations, including stationary test runs and test cycles
• Hand over jets directly to pilots and take them back after flight
• Occasionally undertake special tasks, notably during training abroad, participate in rescue standby, during major events such as the World Economic Forum, or in operational fire service

What makes you unique

• Apprenticeship in a technical field (e.g., automation technician, polymechanic, agricultural or engine mechanic, automotive mechatronics technician)
• Fascination for aviation; however, experience in this field is not mandatory
• Enjoyment of working within a small, well-coordinated team; reliability and analytical mindset
• Availability for technical assistance during training abroad (2 times 2 to 3 weeks per year) as well as for occasional standby or night shifts (seasonal and certain weeks of the year)
• Swiss nationality and a clean criminal record (personnel security check)

The Operations Command (cdmt Op) is responsible for all operations and military engagements of the Swiss Army. The cdmt Op includes, in particular, the Air Force, the Land Forces, the four territorial divisions, the SWISSINT Competence Center, the Special Forces Command, as well as the Military Police. Approximately 40% of the some 2500 employees are employed in civilian roles, from engineers to analysts to aircraft mechanics.
