Introductory text The Department of Architecture (D-ARCH) of ETH Zürich, with around 2’500 students and over 40 professorships, is the largest architecture education institution in Switzerland and is among the leading architecture schools worldwide. To support our team, we are looking for as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement a: Program Coordinator (m/f/d) for the architecture study programs with a workload of 80–100%. Tasks/Job Description You work closely in a partnership and, together with the study coordinator, represent the department's degree programs administratively both internally and externally, particularly towards the central ETH offices, especially the Rectorate and the Academic Services. You are part of the corresponding networks. You ensure the department-wide coordination of all study programs; in particular, you are responsible for the planning and coordination processes concerning the architecture degree programs (BSc/MSc ETH ARCH), especially including the coordination of the semester timetable for the two programs in consultation with the central timetable coordination. You are the central contact person for professorships, lecturers/teaching staff, as well as the coordinators of the other study programs and the doctoral programs of the department. You work closely with the department management, particularly with the Director of Studies BSc/MSc ARCH and – for topics related to the doctorate and continuing education – with the Director of Research. You advise the Director of Studies BSc/MSc ARCH, both strategically and conceptually, and actively participate in the further development and national/international positioning of the architecture degree programs (BSc/MSc ETH ARCH). You accompany periodic program evaluations as well as revisions of the study-related regulations. You conduct the business of the teaching commission and support the admission processes as well as adjustments to the ongoing teaching offerings. You design, plan, and organize the information and introductory events for prospective students and new students. You prepare and analyze the relevant teaching-related data and create planning and decision-making bases as well as target-group-oriented communication materials. Internship coordination: You are responsible for the coordination and further development of the internship program in architecture studies together with the Institute of Architecture and Design. This includes the examination and approval of internship agreements, ensuring compliance with credit point allocation, supervising reflection reports, and conducting quality assurance measures. In addition, you maintain the internship platform as a knowledge archive and continuously develop the network of practice partners and recognized internship positions. Your Profile We are looking for a strategically thinking and operationally strong personality for this key role at the interface of teaching, administration, and academic governance. The position combines leadership responsibility, degree program development, as well as complex coordination and advisory tasks in a higher education environment. You possess strong communication and negotiation skills that enable you to act decisively even in a demanding environment and to bring about consensus-based solutions. You have a university degree; professional experience, additional continuing education, or a doctorate are an advantage, but not a requirement. You have a deep understanding of academic structures, particularly in the area of teaching (BSc, MSc, doctorate), which is required; professional and leadership experience in a comparable function is an advantage. We also expect high service orientation, discretion, and loyalty, a structured, independent, and reliable way of working, strong organizational skills, as well as very good written and oral language skills in German and English.
