Operations Engineer / Head of Technical Department 80 – 100% (m/f)

Your challenge:

As a member of the management, you are responsible for ensuring the operational capability of the plants and buildings. You plan and prioritize plant maintenance over several years and ensure that the plant fulfills its function in the long term and can be operated safely and reliably. To this end, you have a motivated technical team and long-standing external partners at your disposal.

With your team, you take the lead in projects for asset preservation, optimization, and renovation, thereby securing success. In this role, you work closely with the plant manager, the managing director, and the project manager for the expansion of the ARA Rhein.

Your tasks include:

• Leading the technical department with project managers, maintenance planners, and workshops
• Technically independent assurance of the technical operational capability of the plants and buildings on our extensive site
• Project management for optimization and asset preservation projects
• Planning and budgeting of the project portfolio
• Conceptual work on projects, evaluation of variants and risks
• Creation and continuous updating of technical documentation
• Independent coordination of orders and contracts with third-party companies

What you bring:

• Completed university or technical college degree (Master), preferably mechanical engineering or process engineering
• Many years of practical experience in wastewater treatment or environmental protection technology or in the chemical industry in comparable roles
• Knowledge in the application of measurement and control technology and the automation of industrial plants
• Willingness to familiarize yourself with new tasks and to learn new things
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing
• The resilience to maintain an overview and calmness, focusing on the essentials, even in challenging situations
• Additionally, you are a team player, communicative, proactive, resilient, reliable, and ready to delegate work and achieve goals together
• You participate in the management on-call service and are also prepared to work outside of normal working hours when the situation requires it.
