Technical Lead Automation Engineer PLC

In this role, you will take on technical responsibility for demanding PLC automation developments for machines and systems in food processing.

Tasks

• Technical responsibility for demanding automation developments from the idea to market launch
• Conception of future-proof, modular PLC software architectures and reusable solutions for the next generation of machines
• Realization and documentation of new functions for control, visualization, motion control and drive technology
• Integration of results from risk analyses into the safety software according to DIN EN ISO 13849
• Planning and execution of verification and validation using unit tests, digital twins, prototypes and test systems
• Analysis of technological requirements and test results to derive improvements
• Close cooperation with design, product management, project management and other R&D areas

Profile

• Completed studies in automation, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mechatronics or software engineering or comparable technical training
• Sound experience in the development of complex PLC software for machines or systems
• Confident handling of common PLC engineering environments for control programming
• Experience in the conception of modular and reusable software architectures
• Knowledge in safety PLC programming, visualization, motion control, drive and control technology
• Familiarity with industrial communication solutions as well as tools such as Git and Azure DevOps
• Very good German and English skills as well as willingness to travel internationally by around 10 %
