Counting nearly 1,500 employees, the Département de réadaptation et gériatrie (DRG) constitutes a medical hub centered on the elderly person and is distributed across 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably thanks to the emergencies of the Hôpital des Trois-Chêne, specific age-related problems, medical rehabilitation, and palliative medicine.

Located in the heart of a park on the Belle-Idée estate, the Hôpital des Trois-Chêne welcomes people whose state of health requires hospitalization for acute geriatric care or rehabilitation. The hospital has a geriatric emergency unit that can accommodate patients aged 75 and over, excluding life-threatening emergencies, a complete radiology unit, an intermediate care unit, as well as acute care and rehabilitation units.

As a Chief Resident, with or without a specialist title, you guarantee the quality of medical services in the care units of your field of competence.

You coordinate practical activities as well as diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for the patients entrusted to you in close collaboration with the assistant physicians.

Evolving in a stimulating university environment, within a multidisciplinary team, you also contribute to the training of resident doctors.

You participate in clinical research activities and you begin, depending on your personal interest, a quality or clinical research project with specific supervision.

Qualifications

You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales of the Office fédéral de la santé publique (MEBEKO).

You benefit from or are close to obtaining the FMH specialist title in general internal medicine.
In benefit of an FMH specialist title, you must be in possession of a right to practice in the canton of Geneva.
For non-French speaking candidates, a C1 level of French in spoken and written tests is required.

Experience in acute internal medicine (emergencies or intermediate care) or advanced training in geriatrics is a plus.

You are a person endowed with good communication skills in an interdisciplinary team and with patients; you are dynamic, flexible, and committed.
