Your contribution

• Provide technical support for projects, applications and systems as well as ensuring their reliable functioning
• Further develop quality management and accreditation as well as conduct audits, tests and quality assurance measures
• Analyze customer needs and continuously improve services on this basis
• Supervise DNA analysis laboratories, check their accreditation and participate in the implementation of legal requirements

What makes you unique

• Completed vocational training with relevant additional qualification or several years of sound practical experience in the relevant specialist field; police or forensic training is an advantage
• Good knowledge of quality management, accreditation systems as well as in the national and international project environment; HERMES knowledge is an advantage
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legal foundations, particularly in the areas of data protection and data security
• Very good IT user knowledge (including SharePoint, Excel) as well as knowledge of biometric processes and cooperation with national and international partners
• Analytical, networked and quality-oriented way of working with high individual responsibility; ability to process complex cases and identification requests in the field of biometric identification
• Good active knowledge of a second official language; passive knowledge of a third official language as well as good active English skills

fedpol develops and operates national information systems and fulfills supervisory, licensing and enforcement tasks in weapons and explosives law. The Directorate for Police Systems and Identification (PSI) of fedpol ensures the secure operation and further development of central police information systems and databases, is responsible for the national hub for police information exchange and provides identification and forensic services for domestic and foreign partner authorities. The Biometric Identification (BiomID) department provides services in the field of biometric identification for law enforcement and security authorities. It processes and compares fingerprints, DNA profiles as well as other biometric data, confirms matches according to the four-eyes principle and thus supports the identification of persons and traces in a national and international context.
