Through C.A.F.E. practices, Starbucks has been contributing to shaping responsible coffee sourcing since 2004. Today, as sustainability expectations, stakeholder needs, and regulatory requirements continue to evolve, we are looking for an experienced sustainability professional to help lead the next chapter of this important program. As Principal Manager, Responsible Coffee Sourcing & C.A.F.E. practices, you will lead the strategic evolution and management of the Starbucks responsible coffee sourcing program. You will contribute to strengthening its impact, credibility, effectiveness, and readiness in the face of evolving expectations regarding sustainability, human rights, supply chain, and regulation. This role requires a strong leader in responsible sourcing and sustainability capable of thinking strategically, working with global teams, influencing stakeholders, managing complexity, and translating evolving standards and regulations into practical business solutions. Key Responsibilities ## As Principal Manager, Responsible Coffee Sourcing & C.A.F.E. practices, you will: • Lead the redesign, transformation, and long-term evolution of Starbucks' C.A.F.E. practices and the responsible coffee sourcing approach. • Shape future governance, assurance, partnership, and operating models to strengthen the program's impact, credibility, and effectiveness. • Develop responsible sourcing strategies based on environmental, social, human rights, supply chain, and regulatory risks. • Ensure that C.A.F.E. practices data and systems support sustainability reporting, due diligence, risk management, and strategic decision-making. • Collaborate with technology providers to improve the reliability of sustainability data, controls, and system functionality. • Lead cross-functional work with the Coffee, Sustainability, Human Rights, Compliance, Legal, Communication, Supply Chain, Technology, and Procurement teams. • Manage program budgets and resources to support operational delivery and strategic growth. • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports, while strengthening skills and clear responsibilities within the team. • Strengthen internal capabilities by preparing, communicating, and training stakeholders on responsible sourcing policies and practices. • Monitor international regulatory developments and advise on potential impacts for the Starbucks responsible coffee sourcing program. • Build and present clear analyses and recommendations to support decision-making, mitigate risks, and advance long-term sustainable priorities. We would like to receive applications from people having: ## We would like to receive applications from people having: • More than 10 years of experience in responsible sourcing, voluntary standards, sustainable supply chains, or international procurement. • Solid experience in agricultural commodities; experience in coffee and/or cocoa is preferred. • More than 5 years of experience in strategy management in an international, matrixed, and dynamic environment. • More than 5 years of experience in team management and talent development. • Experience in managing complex global budgets and programs. • Good knowledge of sustainability standards, assurance models, responsible sourcing frameworks, and relevant regulatory environments. • Experience in the development or implementation of voluntary sustainability standards and strategic plans. • Field experience in developing countries and agricultural communities, with a good understanding of implementing standards on the ground. • Strong ability to influence across functions, cultures, senior stakeholders, and external partners. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project leadership skills. • The ability to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and to develop practical and timely solutions. • Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are highly desirable to support regional engagement in Latin America and Brazil. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as general experience in database management. • Flexibility, curiosity, and willingness to adapt to the evolution of d
