Informatik Schaffhausen (ITSH), together with around 80 employees, shapes the digital future of the Canton of Schaffhausen. As a central IT partner for the Canton, City, and municipalities, we develop and operate innovative digital services, advise our customers comprehensively, and ensure a secure, modern, and reliable IT operation.

To ensure that the digital services of the Canton, City, and municipalities work together smoothly, we are specifically expanding our integration capabilities. In this key role, you will shape the central integration layer of ITSH. You will design and develop interfaces and APIs, set technical standards, and simultaneously lead a small, dedicated integration team. A deliberately broad field of tasks for people who love technology, enjoy implementing things themselves, and want to take on responsibility.

With immediate effect or by arrangement, we are looking for you as

Team Leader Service Integration, 80–100 %

What awaits you

  • Functional and personnel leadership of a small integration team including the further development of methods, tools, and competencies
  • Conception, construction, and further development of a central integration layer as a technical backbone for the networking of the specialist applications of the Canton, City, and municipalities
  • Conception, implementation, and operation of interfaces and APIs, from requirements through design to the productive, monitored solution, hands-on and with high quality standards
  • Definition and enforcement of integration standards, API guidelines, and reusable integration patterns in close coordination with the Enterprise Architecture Management
  • Collection of integration requirements together with internal teams, specialist departments, and suppliers and their translation into viable, secure solutions
  • Migration of existing interfaces to the new integration platform including further development and automation

What you bring with you

  • Completed studies (Uni/FH) in computer science or an equivalent education/further training
  • Initial leadership experience or proven potential to lead a small team functionally and personally, supplemented by an analytical-conceptual way of thinking and strong communication skills
  • Several years of relevant experience in software engineering and system integration, ideally in the construction or operation of integration solutions and interfaces

Very good, practice-proven programming skills in at least one modern language or platform

  • Sound knowledge in API design (REST, versioning, error and status concepts, API lifecycle) and in common integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous, event-driven, etc.) as well as experience with integration platforms and middleware (API management, message broker or ESB, Robotic Process Automation)
  • Advantageous: Experience in data management (data modeling, data quality, data flows) and/or with DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure as Code)

We offer you

  • Meaningful IT with impact for the entire Canton
  • Flexible working models with home office and a modern New-Work working world
  • A strong team with true collegiality and appreciation as well as short decision-making paths
  • Exciting projects, modern technologies, and a lot of creative freedom
  • Fair employment conditions according to cantonal personnel law and targeted development opportunities
