Over 50 LGBTIQ associations and businesses, as well as over 2-500 individual members, are affiliated with our association. Pink Cross is organized as an association and represents the interests of gay, bi, and queer men in all four linguistic regions towards society, politics, and the public. Our goal is the recognition and equality of gay and bisexual as well as other queer lifestyles in Switzerland as well as worldwide. In cooperation with our partner organizations, we advocate against discrimination, prejudice, and violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and HIV status. We achieve our goals through our active media presence, political advocacy, and a strengthening of the LGBTIQ community.

Project Staff, 50%, fixed-term until end of 2028

This position allows you to apply and expand your knowledge and experience in project management and advocacy work in a versatile environment. You are responsible for the overall coordination of the "Lehrplan Q" network and sensitize school management, teachers, education politicians, and education departments to the relevance of LGBTIQ topics in schools. In doing so, you will work closely with the various partner organizations. Furthermore, you will be involved in a new project to sensitize youth organizations and open youth work to the needs of LGBTIQ youth and can contribute your personal expertise in this area.

Your tasks

  • Project management and coordination of the "Lehrplan Q" network with the partner organizations
  • Organization of training and further education for workshop leaders as well as specialist events for teachers and school staff
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with decision-makers in the field of education and youth work as well as politicians (parliamentarians and executive members) and their sensitization to the relevance of LGBTIQ topics
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with schools (school management, teachers, school social workers, etc.) and supporting them with questions in the LGBTIQ area
  • Planning and coordination of advocacy work in the cantons (maintaining contact, discussions, support for the submission/processing of political initiatives)
  • Ensuring the financing of LGBTIQ offerings in the field of education

Ideally, you bring

You are familiar with the political landscape in German-speaking Switzerland and have gained initial experience in a party, NGO, or interest group on how to implement your political goals into reality. At the same time, you have good knowledge of the German-speaking Swiss school system and, with your winning appearance, you convince all kinds of people from school social work to the education directorate. Ideally, you have been involved yourself in a youth organization and know the reality of youth work. Since both projects take place in German-speaking Switzerland, good German skills are a prerequisite. French is helpful for cooperation in a national umbrella organization. If you know the LGBTIQ community and its concerns well, you are exactly the right person!

What we offer

  • A diverse field of activity with the possibility to implement your own ideas
  • An uncomplicated working atmosphere in central offices in Bern
  • The possibility to do part of your work in the home office (if desired)
  • 5 weeks of vacation, fair remuneration, and social benefits
