Laboratory Technician

For our safety laboratory in Münchwilen within the «Process Hazard Section», we are looking for a laboratory technician for the creation of high-quality experimental safety data.

In this practical laboratory function, you will carry out investigations into process safety, evaluate the results and document them cleanly for the benefit of the clients. Your work makes a direct contribution to the identification of hazards and risk assessment of materials and processes.

Job description:

• Conducting laboratory investigations for the characterization of thermal, chemical and physical process hazards.
• Sample preparation, operation and maintenance of specialized testing equipment.
• Evaluation of experimental results, creation of technical reports and communication of findings to the project team.
• Support in the development and continuous improvement of laboratory methods, work instructions, workflows and equipment.
• Close cooperation with process safety specialists, chemists, engineers and colleagues from development.
• Ensuring high standards regarding laboratory order, quality, documentation and safe working.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as a Chemielaborant/in EFZ analytical or synthesis direction or equivalent training.
• Practical laboratory experience; in particular, knowledge in calorimetry, thermal analysis, reaction hazards or process safety is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Careful, structured and quality-oriented way of working during experiments, data evaluation and documentation.
• Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ability to work independently and at the same time contribute effectively to an interdisciplinary team.
• Good written and oral German and English skills.
