Relief Worker as Specialist in Care

The Verein Schlafguet opened an emergency sleeping shelter in Olten for the Canton of Solothurn on April 1, 2024. With this project, we want to offer people in need a roof over their heads 365 days a year. Until now, there has been no such offer in the Canton of Solothurn. With our emergency sleeping shelter, we are closing this gap. Become a part of this project.
The night care is secured by a double care system consisting of one specialist and one volunteer. The facility is closed during the day. Further information can be found on our website www.schlafguet-olten.ch .

We are looking for immediate start or by arrangement for our team:

Relief Worker as Specialist in Care ##

Area of responsibility: ###

• Care of clients throughout the night
• Responsibility for a department (social shared apartment, volunteer coordination, or gastronomy)
• Conducting admission interviews with clients and deciding on admission according to operating regulations/concepts
• Close cooperation with all stakeholders
• Responsibility for accompanying volunteers during the shared shift
• Collaboration in the further development of the emergency sleeping shelter/emergency pension in cooperation with the team and association management
• Administrative tasks and contact person for third parties, especially regarding regional social service offices
• Housekeeping activities, such as washing laundry and supporting volunteers in the kitchen

Requirement profile: ###

• training preferably in the social, health sector or another social profession. The role as a companion during studies is also conceivable.
• experience in the field of homeless assistance or in working with vulnerable groups of people
• high resilience, assertiveness, ability to set boundaries
• open, appreciative and respectful fundamental attitude
• the willingness to work at night, on weekends and on public holidays
• experience in the gastronomy sector is an advantage
