Graphic Designer / Visual Designer

In the Department of Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering (https://www.bfh.ch/ahb/de/) we shape the built environment for the future. Together with partners from business and society, we develop impulse-giving solutions for sustainable living spaces and infrastructures and learn from nature via the material wood.

What you will do here

• Conception and design: Development of creative ideas and visual concepts for advertising materials, websites, brochures, flyers and social media channels
• Design: Implementation of layouts, infographics, animations and image editing for print and digital media up to publication- or print-ready elaboration
• Corporate Design: Application and further development of the visual brand identity of Berner Fachhochschule as well as ensuring a consistent appearance of the departments of Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering as well as Technology and Informatics
• Collaboration: Close coordination with specialists from marketing, communication, events and web as well as collaboration with external service providers
• Project management: Independent planning and coordination of design projects as well as responsibility for deadlines, quality and implementation up to pre-press

What you ideally bring with you

• Completed studies or a comparable training in the field of graphic design, visual communication or communication design
• At least 3--5 years of professional experience in graphic or communication design
• Very good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; knowledge in After Effects as well as in handling AI tools
• Strong sense for typography, layout and color as well as a creative, independent, structured and reliable way of working and joy in collaborating in a team
• Meaningful portfolio with work samples that shows the design and conceptual experience in print and digital media
