Social Worker or Social Pedagogue

The Department of Families, Children and Youth is responsible for family and youth issues and the foster care system. It is responsible for the planning of offerings, licensing, financing, quality assurance, and supervision of offerings in the areas of supplementary childcare and children's and youth homes. The Foster Families and Adoptions Unit is part of the Department of Families, Children and Youth and is responsible for suitability assessments, supervision, and counseling of foster parents. In the adoption area, the technical examination of adoption requests as well as the supervision and support of adoptive families are among the tasks of the unit. Another task is participation in the supervision in the area of supplementary childcare and in children's and youth institutions. Families, Children and Youth We are looking for the Foster Families and Adoptions Unit of the cantonal social services per 1. November 2026 or by arrangement a social pedagogue or social worker. ## Your area of responsibility ### • Independent conduct of supervision visits as well as support and counseling in ongoing foster care relationships • Suitability assessment of foster parents • Contact person for questions regarding the foster care system towards authorities, interested parties, and outsiders • Ensuring quality assurance and continuous development of processes for the Foster Families and Adoptions Unit • Participation in the supervision of supplementary childcare offerings • Other versatile, interesting, and responsible activities What we wish for from you ### • Degree in social pedagogy, social work or a related discipline (psychology/educational sciences) • Experience in the field of family support / child protection or willingness to undergo corresponding further training • Solution-oriented and networked thinking and acting, interdisciplinary understanding of tasks and ability to work in a team • Independent, goal-oriented, and responsible way of working as well as reliability and competence • Strong communicative, conceptual, and editorial skills • Knowledge of cantonal official languages desirable • Good IT user skills (especially MS-Word) • Driver's license category B
