As part of the establishment of a new area within the Networks Department, we are looking for a Head of Network Development 80-100% Your Mission In this function, you are responsible for the control and coordination of the strategic development of the Valais high-voltage (HV) network. You take over the strategic asset management of this network, the responsibility for the coordination of network connections in the high-voltage area, as well as for contractual aspects. Embedded in the Networks Department, you ensure the leadership and further development of the area. In doing so, you align the area consistently with strategic network development and the project portfolio. You plan and develop the required resources, specifically promote the competence development of employees – especially in the area of asset management –, participate actively in the Networks Directorate, and support the Department Head directly. You ensure close coordination with various stakeholders such as Swissgrid, Valgrid, distribution system operators, producers, industrial partners, customers, as well as authorities. You manage the further development of the high-voltage network with a focus on security of supply as well as on the integration of the required strategic capacities in the long term. Your other tasks include leading studies in connection with network development, monitoring connection requests, as well as the management of connection and network usage contracts. Furthermore, you are responsible for the management of contracts in connection with simple partnerships for key assets. Your Profile Engineering degree ETH/FH in electrical engineering or an equivalently recognized training, ideally with an EMBA At least 5–7 years of experience in the development and strategic asset management of power grids Sound leadership experience Experience in the area of high-voltage networks is an advantage Experience in the management of multidisciplinary high-voltage projects Very good communication and negotiation skills Pronounced leadership competence and sense of responsibility Organizational and planning strength (initiative, proactivity, forward-thinking) Resilience, reliability, and flexibility Native language French or German with very good knowledge of the respective other language (level C1) as well as very good English skills (level C1) Why work with us?
