Professor and Study Program Director of the BSc Industrial Artificial Intelligence The Department of Engineering at OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule combines excellent teaching with application-oriented research and close cooperation with industry and business. To strengthen our Industrial Engineering department, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded and committed personality as Professor and Study Program Director of the BSc Industrial Artificial Intelligence (100%) In this key role, you will take over the establishment and further development of the new Bachelor's degree program Industrial Artificial Intelligence at the Rapperswil-Jona location. You will thus shape a forward-looking study offering at the interface of technology, economics and computer science and combine teaching, application-oriented research as well as the exchange with industry and business. The study program starts in September 2027; the position is to be filled immediately or by arrangement. Professor and Study Program Director of the BSc Industrial Artificial Intelligence Your tasks You take overall responsibility for the new Bachelor's degree program Industrial AI including strategic, operational and financial leadership of the study program You help shape the development of the curriculum from the beginning and are responsible for its continuous further development and quality assurance You take over teaching courses in the study program and contribute to the practical training of the students You take over interface management with study administration, marketing and other internal departments You are involved in recruiting new students and represent the study program internally and externally You work closely with the lecturers and take on a central mediating role towards the students You acquire and lead application-oriented research and development projects with industrial partners as well as universities at home and abroad You build a sustainable network with industrial partners and other relevant stakeholders Your qualification Master's degree in a technical or scientific field; a doctorate or proven scientific achievements are an advantage Several years of experience in the development and application of Artificial Intelligence in an industrial environment, specifically in the linking of AI with industrial processes, products and plants Extensive knowledge of modern AI methods and their industrial applications Experience in the acquisition and management of research and development projects as well as in building sustainable networks with industry and university partners Ideally experience in university teaching as well as sound knowledge in university didactics with high motivation and a strong flair for teaching Very good English skills in speaking and writing Personally you will convince through: Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking Innovative strength and desire to shape Analytical and conceptual strength Communication and leadership competencies Independent, reliable and team-oriented way of working Enthusiasm for the training of future engineers We offer The unique opportunity to build and significantly shape a new and forward-looking study program A responsible leadership task with great scope for design Cooperation with committed colleagues from business, computer science and engineering The possibility to actively combine teaching, research and innovation Modern working conditions at a dynamic university of applied sciences Interested?
