School Social Worker

Five minutes by plane - and 15 minutes by train - from St. Gallen lies Degersheim. The active municipality offers optimal living conditions for 4'300 inhabitants. Embedded in the wonderful hilly landscape, Degersheim is a preferred local recreation area for young and old.

As a school social worker, you will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and the school management. You are an important contact person in everyday school life, providing support during challenges and contributing to ensuring that 550 children in our school feel safe, accepted, and empowered.

We are looking for a motivated and competent personality starting 1. November 2026 or by arrangement as

School Social Worker ##

50 - 60 percent

The following tasks await you:

• Conducting consultations with students, parents, and/or teachers
• Individual case assistance, group and class interventions
• Implementation of projects in prevention work (early detection - prevention - intervention)
• Networking and cooperation with school-based and extra-curricular specialist agencies

For this challenging activity, we wish for you:

• Completed training in social work or social pedagogy (HFS, FH) as well as CAS School Social Work, or the readiness to complete this further education
• Professional experience in a school environment
• Strong communication skills
• High social competence, flexibility, commitment, and resilience
• Systemic-solution-oriented and person-centered way of working
