Deputy Secretary General / Deputy Secretary General Job posting The Swiss Bishops' Conference (SBK) is the association of Roman Catholic bishops and territorial abbots of Switzerland. It operates its General Secretariat in Fribourg/Freiburg with 17 employees. Due to retirement, we are looking for, as of 1 May 2027 or by arrangement, a Deputy Secretary General / Deputy Secretary General (60 – 80%) Your tasks Contact person in HR matters for all employees of the Verein Schweizer Bischofskonferenz Coordination of recruitment processes and employee appraisals Management of the chancellery and contact person for training and further education Co-preparation, consultation and minute-taking of the plenary assemblies as well as the SBK presidency meetings Support of projects of the General Secretariat and participation in the elaboration of documents Member of the executive management and participation in the preparation of the SBK budget Representation of the SBK General Secretariat in certain subject areas, mixed committees as well as events or international conferences Management of the General Secretariat in the absence of the Secretary General Consultation on legal issues and in strategy development Your profile Master in Law or higher education in the field of human resources Work experience in leading a small, motivated team Personal connection to church life as well as high knowledge of the structures of the Roman Catholic Church, especially in Switzerland Error-free expression in German or French with very good oral and written skills in the respective other language Italian and English language skills are an advantage Strong ability to work with internal and external partners with different ecclesiastical perspectives Teamwork skills, flexibility, resilience and willingness for occasional deployment on weekends as well as on public holidays Your perspective We offer an exciting and varied activity in a motivated multilingual team, as well as contemporary employment conditions in Fribourg/ Application Interested persons should send their applications by 18 September 2026 via email with the note «Stv.
