ICT-System Engineer Senior (Backend Services Communication Services)

This is your contribution

• Design, integrate, and further develop the backend services for tactical and civilian communication solutions on the NDP OpenShift platform, take responsibility for their secure operation, and automate deployment, configuration, and testing
• Conceive, integrate, and take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of central security services such as Key Management (COMSEC/TRANSEC), PKI, IAM, and PAM, and embed them consistently into the NDP -- Communication Services system landscape
• Develop and integrate components for security services and testing, as well as ensure monitoring, logging, alarming, and the continuous optimization of operational and end-to-end processes
• Analyze and resolve malfunctions in the interaction between platforms and peripheral systems, take over technical coordination and escalation to suppliers, and plan and implement changes, releases, upgrades, and lifecycle activities
• Provide technical leadership to external DevSecOps Engineers, structure tasks, review and challenge technical solutions, and establish binding quality standards
• Collaborate at the team and ART levels in SAFe, work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Architects, translate technical requirements into implementable solutions and document them, and use scripting and automation with tools such as Python and Ansible

What makes you unique

• Training as a computer scientist (EFZ/FA/FH), HF technician, or engineer (UNI/ETH/FH) in the field of computer science or telecommunications, with good knowledge in the respective other area, as well as several years of experience as a Senior DevSecOps, Platform, or System Engineer in complex, security-critical environments
• Very good knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift, Linux, container technologies, Git, CI/CD, as well as Infrastructure/Configuration as Code and automation, e.g., with Ansible, Helm, and Python/Shell
• Broad security know-how regarding Key Management/cryptographic services, PKI, IAM/PAM, Secrets Management, Hardening, and Vulnerability Management, as well as the ability to technically challenge specialists
• Profound experience in platform operation as well as with monitoring, logging, and alarming, and common OSS ecosystems such as ELK, Zabbix, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry, as well as strong competence in end-to-end troubleshooting
• Experience with IT Service Management and ServiceNow, as well as incident, problem, change, configuration, and lifecycle processes; confident in dealing with suppliers and the integration of manufacturer-specific application services
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills as well as experience in agile/SAFe organizations; ability to translate architecture, security, and operational requirements into robust and automatable solutions
