The university has numerous exhibition and performance venues where student projects are presented to the public. • The Department of Performing Arts and Film currently trains approximately 170 young dancers. The dance programs, provided by the Tanz Akademie Zürich (taZ), include a basic course in classical dance for children and youth, as well as professional training in classical stage dance (EFZ). At the university level, the BA Contemporary Dance and MA Dance programs are offered, with two specializations: Choreography and Teaching and Coaching of dance professionals. In the BA Contemporary Dance program, created in 2014, aspiring national and international talents develop into professional contemporary stage dancers during a three-year curriculum. The combination of individual support, a professional network, and an emphasis on health and well-being makes this program an exceptional training opportunity. We are looking for a person to take over the artistic, pedagogical, and organizational direction of the study program starting from 1 February 2027 Head of the BA Contemporary Dance major curriculum (70 %), m/f/d # Your responsibilities as Head of the BA Contemporary Dance curriculum (50 %) • Development and design of the curriculum (artistic, pedagogical, structural) in close collaboration with the Head of Dance • Responsibility for the curriculum, study planning, and the conduct of courses • Management of teaching and research staff as well as study coordination • Organization and supervision of teaching activities, including productions and projects • Responsibility for admission procedures (auditions) and degree qualifications • Advising and supporting students throughout their studies • Planning and coordination of internships in Switzerland and abroad • Budgetary responsibility and resource planning • Quality assurance and strategic development of the program • Representation of the program internally and externally, and maintenance of networks Your responsibilities as a contemporary dance teacher (20 %) • Teaching dance technique in the field of contemporary dance within the framework of the study program • Directing rehearsals and providing choreographic support for a diverse contemporary repertoire Your profile You are passionate about contemporary dance and wish to take on the responsibility of offering young talents a future-oriented training program. You hold a master's degree or equivalent qualification, as well as an international artistic profile in contemporary dance and an excellent professional network. You have also acquired several years of professional and leadership experience, ideally in a higher education context. You possess strong organizational and managerial skills and can effectively manage complex processes. You work in a structured, prospective, and autonomous manner. You are perfectly proficient in German and English. You also have good IT skills. Furthermore, you are distinguished by strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, the ability to work in a team and promote integration, as well as by your resilience and assertiveness. The position requires an on-site presence in Zurich.
