Animal Caretaker

Das Tierdörfli Olten offers immediate help and protection for dogs, cats, and small animals in need. We care for found animals, surrendered animals, and injured animals and place them in new, controlled living environments. At the same time, we look after holiday animals and offer guided tours and holiday pass courses for children. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a trained Animal Caretaker EFZ 60%-100% to start immediately or by arrangement. You bring with you: • Successfully completed 3-year vocational training as an Animal Caretaker EFZ or a comparable training (e.g., TPA / Veterinary Assistant EFZ) • Very good powers of observation and a high sense of responsibility • Independent, reliable, and solution-oriented way of working • Friendly and service-oriented appearance • Good physical and emotional resilience • Possession of a Category B driver's license • Readiness for early, late, holiday, and weekend shifts as well as occasional night on-call duty Your tasks: • Care and supervision of dogs, cats, small animals (pet birds, rodents, and rabbits) as well as some farm animals • Cleaning, disinfection, and species-appropriate setup of animal accommodations • Preparation of food rations as well as ordering and stocking feed and animal accessories • Conducting intake and placement interviews, as well as assisting with the placement of animals • Daily monitoring of the assigned animal stock as well as maintaining animal stock reports • Species-appropriate care and stimulation of the animals according to their needs • Assistance during veterinary treatment • Administration of medication according to veterinary instructions • Expert customer and visitor care as well as administrative activities on the PC (updating animal data, email and telephone correspondence) • Participation in measures in the field of public relations • Supervision of apprentices, interns, and volunteers • Animal rescue missions and trips to the veterinarian or to the animal clinic In addition to a versatile and independent activity with personal responsibility, a well-coordinated, dynamic team and modern and performance-related remuneration await you.
