Social Worker in Training (m/f/d)

We create perspectives for people towards an independent life outside of crime, thereby making an important contribution to a safe society. The Amt für Justizvollzug of the Sicherheits- und Justizdepartements employs around 260 employees in various professional fields. The Abteilung Bewährungshilfe accompanies adults during criminal proceedings, after convictions, and provides probation assistance. It runs the Beratungsstelle Häusliche Gewalt, is the Vollzugsstelle Electronic Monitoring, and offers the learning program for persons committing violence.

For our Hauptabteilung Bewährungshilfe, we are looking as of 1. August 2027 or by arrangement for a committed personality who is completing the work-study program in Social Work at the OST. There is the possibility to start the position as early as 1. February 2027 as a pre-internship (80%).

What to expect ###

• You support clients from pre-trial detention until the completion of the ordered probation period of the Bewährungshilfe
• You advise and accompany clients in their social integration in the areas of housing, work, therapy, etc., access finances for them, and work with them on their debt situation
• You practice active victim protection by processing the offense with the clients according to methodological specifications
• You collaborate with us in the further listed tasks of the Bewährungshilfe

What characterizes you ###

• You have completed vocational training and/or a Matura (Berufsmaturität, Fachmaturität or gymnasiale Matura)
• You wish to complete the work-study program Bachelor of Science FH OST in Sozialer Arbeit or switch to work-study
• Ideally, you already bring initial practical experience in the social sector
• You possess good social competencies in relationship management and communication. Furthermore, you are willing to further develop these within the framework of your training
• You enjoy working in a team and at the same time possess an independent and reliable way of working
• You have proficient German in speaking and writing. Further foreign language skills, especially French and English, are an advantage
