JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will actively participate in designing the construction of our central data platform based on Microsoft Fabric and OneLake. You will develop reliable data pipelines, integrate various corporate data, and create the technical foundation for meaningful analyses and reports. In doing so, you will work closely with our Business Analysts and internal specialist departments and contribute significantly to the sustainable further development of our data architecture, data quality, and analytics solutions.

YOUR TASKS

• Construction, operation, and continuous further development of our central data platform with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, taking into account a scalable and high-performance architecture.
• Development and maintenance of data pipelines for the integration of different source systems, in particular Abacus/c-tree, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL.
• Conception and implementation of efficient ETL/ELT processes for the extraction, transformation, and provision of corporate data.
• Structuring and preparing our data according to the Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) as a basis for Semantic Models and Power BI reports.
• Close cooperation with Business Analysts and internal stakeholders to translate functional reporting requirements into suitable data models and structures.
• Ensuring high data quality as well as monitoring and continuous optimization of data flows and Microsoft Fabric capacities.
• Technical support in the creation and further development of Semantic Models and Power BI reports.
• Active participation in shaping our Data Governance as well as the technical standards for Data Engineering, Analytics, and Reporting.

WHAT WE EXPECT

• Completed education or further training in computer science, software development, data engineering, data analytics, or a comparable field (EFZ, HF, FH).
• Several years of practical experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence.
• Sound knowledge of Python, PySpark, and SQL, as well as experience with relational database systems, especially Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
• Practical experience in the development and operation of data pipelines as well as in dealing with ETL/ELT processes.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and OneLake or the motivation to learn these technologies in depth.
• Experience with Power BI and Semantic Models is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking skills as well as a structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working with a high awareness of quality.
• Enjoyment of working with different specialist departments and the ability to communicate complex technical contexts in an understandable way.
• Very good German skills as well as good written and spoken English skills.
