Can you identify where processes could be improved and implement improvements in a pragmatic way? As an Operations Manager, you play a central role at the Bienne site between operations, logistics, administration, purchasing, and site management. You analyze production processes, coordinate daily operations, and bring structure to processes that need to function efficiently and sustainably. You work in an environment where recycling and responsible resource management are part of everyday life, and you bring your experience to where it has a concrete impact. The position is deliberately designed as a development position: you will gradually be given increased responsibilities, with the clear goal of taking on a leadership role within the company in the long term. What you will do... • Operational development of the site and introduction of new impulses in processes, structures, and procedures • Analysis and optimization of production processes in terms of efficiency, quality, and sustainability • Planning and coordination of production processes to ensure smooth operation • Close collaboration with site management, operations, logistics, administration, and purchasing • Taking on responsibilities in cross-functional projects within the group • Support during replacements in central functions (e.g., site management, purchasing, administration) • Participation in the budgeting process and investment planning • Ensuring and developing occupational safety, environmental, and quality standards • Accompanying internal and external audits as well as coordination with authorities • Support for SIBE and coordination of hazardous materials in organizational and operational aspects What you bring... • Completed basic technical training • Experience in customer and supplier service is an advantage • Additional training in management, process management, or quality management is an advantage • Professional experience in a production environment or close to logistics, ideally in the recycling sector • Initial management experience or interest in evolving into a leadership role • Personal initiative and motivation for development • Knowledge of operational process management and/or use of key indicators • Organizational talent and good sense of processes and human relationships • Excellent communication skills, team spirit, and pragmatic mindset • Very good knowledge of German spoken and written; French is a plus What we offer • With your work, you actively contribute to environmental protection and resource conservation • A lot of freedom, autonomy, and responsibility in your tasks • Stability and secure employment • Flat hierarchies and simple decision-making processes • Family-like company culture: with us, you are not just a number • At least 25 days of vacation / 30 days from the 11th year of service or from 50 years • Thommen Academy (in-house training for our employees) • Good social benefits (above-average salary maintenance in case of accident and illness, pension fund without risk of loss) The right decision: working at Thommen Group Thommen Group is one of the leading European recycling companies with roots in Switzerland.
