The Police International Cooperation (CIP) directorate of fedpol ensures cooperation between the Confederation and the Cantons and with foreign partner authorities, manages national contact points for international information exchange and police research exchanges (e.g. via INTERPOL, Europol, and Schengen), and ensures police coordination in cross-border and international situations. The Operations and Alarm Center -- SIRENE CH is the national contact point for police information exchange and police research exchanges within the Schengen information system (SIS). It handles police requests from Switzerland and abroad 24 hours a day, coordinates their transmission to the competent national authorities, and provides support in international searches and investigations and in managing special situations. Additional information The single point of contact (SPOC) is active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
