The energy world is evolving rapidly. Digitization, data, and artificial intelligence are becoming key success factors for the safe and efficient operation of the Swiss transmission grid.

Ensuring electricity in Switzerland

In this key role, you take responsibility for the development of digitization, innovation, and data-based applications at Swissgrid. As Head of Digital Innovation & AI, you actively shape the digital future of Swissgrid. You develop innovative solutions, exploit new potentials through data and AI, and foster a culture of innovation across the company. With internal and external partners, you transform visionary ideas into concrete achievements. Your responsibilities and tasks include notably:

• you define the digitization, data, and AI strategy in close collaboration with the divisions and apply new approaches in pilot projects
• you identify opportunities for new digital solutions and innovative business approaches throughout the Swissgrid value chain
• you initiate, drive, and support innovation, research, and transformation projects until their operational commissioning
• you encourage the use of modern technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and automation
• you contribute to a culture of innovation and learning across the company and support knowledge transfer beyond organizational boundaries
• you lead a team of approximately five highly qualified and motivated experts and create the framework conditions for their successful professional and personal development
• you represent Swissgrid in national and international technical committees, research programs, and innovation networks
• you maintain and strengthen lasting relationships with universities, start-ups, technological partners, and other transmission system operators

We are looking for an inspiring leader personality with strategic thinking, technological curiosity, and an entrepreneurial sense. You bring:

• a university degree (university or ETH/FH) in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering sciences, business informatics, or a comparable field
• deep knowledge of the functioning of electrical energy systems (electrical engineering) and grid operation
• a practical "can-do" mentality: thanks to your technical expertise, you act as both a coach and a technical leader
• several years of experience in the fields of digitization, data management, AI, innovation, or technological transformation
• proven experience in team management and the pleasure of promoting and developing employees
• a pronounced ability to present complex subjects in an understandable manner and to communicate convincingly at all hierarchical levels
• strategic thinking combined with a strong capacity for pragmatic implementation and change management skills
• enthusiasm for new technologies as well as a great interest in innovation and research
• an aptitude for building cooperation and bringing together different interest groups
• a very good command of German and English, knowledge of French is an asset
