Plant Operator in Shift Operation 80-100% | Thun

Do you want to monitor literally "hot" plants in a reliable team and at the same time shape the energy future? Then you are exactly right with us! We transform waste into sustainable energy – not with magic, but with state-of-the-art technology and everyday heroes.

AVAG Umwelt AG is the regionally leading waste management, recycling, and energy company for around 130 municipalities and their population as well as numerous commercial and industrial customers. Through our commitment, we make an important contribution to closing numerous material cycles, to the energy transition in the region, and to the careful handling of the environment – in short: we turn yesterday into tomorrow.

Your Field of Activity

• Superheroes always keep an eye on the situation – you do that too, so that the region doesn't run out of "Pfuus". It becomes particularly exciting, however, when not everything is running as it should. Then your cool head and hands-on approach are required!
• You bear responsibility for the waste incineration plant, the wood-fired power plant, and the district heating network and control these plants using a state-of-the-art process control system (don't worry, we will show you how to do it).
• You are the mastermind behind the furnace and boiler plant, the heat and electricity production, as well as the flue gas and residue treatment.
• Malfunctions and process deviations? No problem! You recognize them immediately, analyze the situation, and find solutions in no time.
• You lend a hand with repair, maintenance, and cleaning work – logically, superheroes don't just sit at a desk after all (although our state-of-the-art command center is already very cozy).

Your Profile

• You have training in the mechanical or electrical engineering field, ideally with additional training as a heating plant operator or the willingness to complete this with us.
• You are quick on your feet, paired with the willingness to take on responsibility and to roll up your sleeves.
• Independent working suits you, but you are also unbeatable in a team.
• You also like to be on duty when others are sleeping – logical, or do you know superheroes who only work during office hours?
