Job description:

• Functional and disciplinary leadership, motivation, and further development of subordinate managers and employees
• Responsibility for efficient personnel, deployment, and shift planning, including vacation, absence, and emergency planning
• Ensuring quality, punctuality, and costs within all operational logistics processes
• Steering and optimization of goods receipt, warehouse, picking, shipping, and inventory management
• Ensuring correct inventory management, including inventories and stock corrections
• Responsibility for operational safety, availability, and further development of automated warehouse and intralogistics systems
• Continuous improvement of logistics processes using Lean Management, Operational Excellence, and process optimization
• Planning and steering of budgets, investments, operating resources, and relevant KPIs
• Participation in cross-functional optimization and logistics projects
• Ensuring compliance with occupational safety, HSSE guidelines, quality standards, and legal requirements
• Close cooperation with production, planning, purchasing, order processing, IT, quality management, as well as external suppliers and service providers

About the customer:

For an internationally active industrial company in the Zürcher Oberland, we are looking for an experienced leader as Head of Logistics (m/f/d). In this responsible role, you will lead and develop the operational logistics organization and ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality execution of all logistics processes.

The position is intended as a fixed-term project assignment until April 2027.

Requirements:

• Completed basic technical or logistical training, for example as Logistiker/in EFZ
• Ideally further training in the field of logistics, Supply Chain Management, business administration, or comparable
• At least 5 years of professional experience in logistics, intralogistics, or warehouse management within an industrial, production, commercial, or logistics environment
• Several years of leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Sound experience in Lean Management, Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and process optimization
• Very good knowledge of SAP, ideally in the modules EWM, MM, SD, and/or PP
• Experience with automated warehouse solutions, high-bay warehouses, conveyor technology, or robotics is an advantage
• Strong leadership and coaching competence as well as entrepreneurial and solution-oriented thinking
• High level of independence, decision-making strength, and strong communication skills
• Structured, reliable, and pragmatic way of working
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken

You will assume a central leadership function within a modern and internationally oriented industrial organization. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to actively further develop the operational logistics as well as its processes, systems, and structures.
