The Département de médecine de premier recours (DMPR) has the societal mission of enabling access to quality care for all through proximity medicine, ensuring the management of minor medical and surgical emergencies, promoting prevention among citizens, providing medical knowledge for judicial investigations, and promoting the health of travelers.

The tropical and humanitarian medicine service ensures the management of patients who have traveled and present an import, tropical, or parasitic pathology and provides prevention advice. It performs specialized vaccinations for travelers, expatriates, students, and the local population. Furthermore, this service actively participates in vaccination interventions in case of an epidemic or other identified need.

Nurse – Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine Service (SMTH) - 100%
As a nurse in the Service de médecine tropicale et humanitaire (SMTH), your mission consists of autonomously conducting nursing pre-travel consultations with a very diverse patient base (expatriates, families, humanitarians, immunosuppressed).

You lead and manage first-line nursing consultations autonomously, in compliance with the missions, protocols, and delegations entrusted to you.

You also provide advisory activity to travelers by formulating personalized recommendations regarding travel risk prevention (vaccinations, prophylaxis, hygiene measures, prevention of infectious diseases, and other health risks). You actively participate in vaccination campaigns on various sites.

You work in collaboration with a multi-professional team as well as with internal and external care networks, including non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and partners present at the Global Health Campus.

Your empathy, interpersonal skills, and ability to create a climate of trust allow you to position yourself as a full healthcare partner.

Equipped with an excellent capacity for adaptation and organization, you are able to deal with large and variable patient flows while maintaining quality care. You manage unforeseen events and stress-generating situations calmly.

You possess excellent interpersonal skills, a developed sense of welcome, and benevolent communication, allowing you to meet the expectations of a demanding and multicultural patient base.

As part of your activity, you will be required to work on two sites.

Qualifications

You possess a Bachelor HES in nursing or an equivalent nursing degree recognized by the Croix-Rouge suisse.

You have a diversified professional practice of more than 4 years in the field of public health and/or community health and knowledge in vaccinology. You have received training in nursing clinical assessment.

Training in tropical and traveler medicine constitutes a real asset.

You have a very good level of English, both spoken and written. Mastery of another language is an asset.

You know how to adapt to various contexts, unforeseen events, and variations in workload.

You possess excellent interpersonal skills, a sense of welcome, and benevolent communication.
