Laundry Clerk

The employer is looking for a: housekeeping assistant - laundry (reported profession) Tasks: • based on internal directives, work programs, service needs and the priorities established by the manager of the centralized laundry, the person in charge performs operational activities connected to the management of linen, in compliance with hygiene-sanitary regulations and the planned quality standards. • takes care of the collection, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, packaging and delivery of flat linen, guests' personal linen and other textile items; • guarantees the correct and safe use of machinery and products for washing and disinfection, in accordance with current protocols; • observes all hygienic regulations and prescriptions regarding safety and health at work, wearing the prescribed clothing and personal protective equipment; • guarantees the order, cleanliness and hygiene of the laundry environments and equipment; • guarantees the correct identification and traceability of linen, with particular attention to the personal items of the users; • may be called upon to provide irregular service to replace absent personnel and/or for other needs; • other support tasks compatible with the function may be assigned to them (e.g. cleaning activities or small logistical tasks); • guarantees service mobility between the different elderly care facilities of Ente LIS; • adheres to and respects the provisions regarding safety, hygiene and health protection in the workplace, in accordance with the recommendations issued by the Ente for the protection of all collaborators and users. Requirements: • federal certificate of capacity as a domestic economy employee, textile care manager, or equivalent title preferentially, or proven experience in the sector; • aptitude for both independent and group work; • spirit of initiative, flexibility and ability to adapt; • confidentiality and sensitivity in indirect interaction with the users; • manual skill, precision and ability to resolve practical situations independently; • predisposition to acquire skills in the correct use of chemical products, machinery and tools necessary for the daily activity of the laundry; • availability to work irregular hours, including outside regular hours and on holidays, according to service needs. • excellent knowledge of Italian • driving license cat.B Employment details: • workplace Agno • occupation at 100% • employment from 01.08.2026, fixed term until 31.01.2027 • shift work, Sunday work and holiday work • shift days and hours, to be agreed upon based on needs • salary remuneration based on the ROCIS salary scale valid from 01.01.2026 Applications must be submitted electronically via the online portal following the procedure indicated on the website of the Ente Lugano Istituti Sociali: https://lugano-lis.ch/lavora-con-noi/opportunita-impiego/
