Architect / Subproject Leader Planning (m/f/d) # 80%-100%, Zürich, limited to #### print Print The ETH Zürich is launching the «Living Lab HIL» pioneering research project with a direct connection to construction practice. The HIL building on the Hönggerberg campus will become a real laboratory. The building in need of renovation will be renovated and expanded. In the coming years, professorships from the Departments of Architecture (D-ARCH) and Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG) will research and plan the renovation of the HIL building in the sense of circular construction. The goal is to further develop sustainable design and construction in existing buildings and to apply it exemplarily to a real planning and construction project. For the planning team of the Living Lab HIL, we are looking for an experienced architect who will independently plan, coordinate and implement our complex and demanding subprojects - from the renovation of the existing building to the expansion of the HIL building to the development of innovative makerspaces. You will accompany the projects through all phases and cover the entire spectrum from planning to realization on site. Job Description ## In this project-related role, you will primarily take on the following tasks and responsibilities: • Subproject management: Independent management, coordination and implementation of specific subprojects (e.g. renovation during ongoing operation, innovative expansion). • SIA phases 1-5: Complete processing and control of projects across all SIA service phases, from the preliminary study to successful execution and commissioning. • Prototypical implementation: Detailed and execution planning of highly innovative, circular and prototypical building constructions in direct collaboration with the participating professorships. • Project controlling: Strict responsibility for adherence to deadlines, qualities and costs within the budgets and processes of ETH Real Estate. • Interface management: Close exchange and coordination with contractors, authorities, specialist planners and representatives from teaching and research. • The position is initially limited to a maximum of five years, initially with a one-year contract with extension options. Profile ## To ideally meet the requirements of this demanding position, you bring the following profile: • Education: Completed degree in architecture (ETH/FH or equivalent). • Professional experience: Solid, multi-year experience in execution planning and project coordination in Switzerland. Proven experience across all SIA phases is mandatory. • Specialist knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Swiss building regulations, standards (SIA) and approval procedures, ideally with experience in building in existing structures. • CAD knowledge: Very good, practice-proven knowledge of 3D-CAD, preferably Rhino and VisualArq or comparable BIM systems. • Personality: Structured, independent way of working, pronounced sense of responsibility, flexibility and enjoyment of unconventional, innovative building solutions. • Languages: Very good German language skills and good English language skills.
